The Compound Danshen Dripping Pill, a cardiovascular medication based on Chinese traditional medicine, has been approved for Phase III clinical trials by the Food and Drug Administration. The compound is the first traditional medicine to pass the difficult FDA Phase II trials, which focus on the effectiveness and safety of any drug before it’s actually marketed in the United States. There’s a third and final phase before it’s offered in US online pharmacies, but the company is confident that the pill will pass that as well.
Danshen is an herbal compound used to treat angina, ischemic stroke, myocarditis, and a host of other cardiovascular conditions. It’s a good alternative for heart patients who buy medication online for their ailments. Taisly Pharmaceuticals, which produces the drug, says that it may be released in the US in three years. Hopefully, it’s also offered in online pharmacies at the same time. Millions of people around the world are taking the drug every year, and this latest development is good news for the manufacturer and for patients who desperately need heart medication.
